Metformin, a prescription drug used primarily in the treatment of Type 2 diabetes, is suspected of either preventing or treating various kinds of cancer when the drug has been prescribed for lowering blood sugar levels. The investigators, therefore, concluded metformin was linked with a better outcome for people with pancreatic cancer.
